Since I was only going to watch one show this season, I decided to wear something simple. A basic black top I got for free from Cache Cache (with a minimum of P1000 purchase) and a cute bird print skirt (which I borrowed from my sister) from the SM Store. I also used the recent pastel mint green clutch I bought from the SM Store. I love it to death! I wish they sell the clutch in other dainty pastel colors also :)
It’s always exciting seeing the creations of local designers here in the Philippines. It makes me feel even more inspired to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a designer myself. I have a long way to go but I will truly work hard to achieve my dream. This year, I had an opportunity to experience Philippine Fashion Week again. I’ve been going ever since 2009. One day, hopefully I will go there as a designer (fingers crossed!)
I always get excited to check the Philippine Fashion Week schedules online because I want to know i Michael Cinco will be flaunting his creations again. I am in love with everything Michael Cinco makes. I get jealous of the models since they get to be wrapped in the amazing creations of Michael Cinco and get paid for it!
I can still remember the first time I've experienced Philippine Fashion Week back in 2009. My sister and I volunteered to Runway Productions. So, our first experience of the fashion week here in Manila is a bit overwhelming. We had access backstage and the like. It was a fun and memorable experience! Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2009 to Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013... oh how time flies.
I absolutely loved the Menswear collection especially the collections of Edgar Buyan, Jinggo Inoncillo and M Barretto. In the future, I would also love to design clothes for men. I think it would be very interesting!
On October 28, I attended the second to the last day of Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013. The first show was the Grand Allure collection. I really loved Cherry Samuya Veric, Marc Rancy, Nolie Viñeza and Popo Go's collections :) I was invited to the PENSHOPPE show for this season. It was really a surreal experience. Back in 2009, I remember wanting to go watch the Penshoppe show with my friends but we were not on the guestlist. Thanks to the gorgeous Solenn Heussaff, read all about my experience here :)
On the sixth day of Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013, I wore something different. I layered a black tank top with a sheer mint top and even layered it with a black cardigan. For the bottom area, I wore my favorite high waist denim shorts and black tights. I love going to these kind of events because you're free to wear anything you want. People will judge, but let them judge all they want. Just flaunt what you wear and be yourself. See you all next season! :)
I think I've overused this skirt already! Haha :) The cute blue skirt I'm wearing is from Jellybean. I love Jellybean! I remember last year, I went to Jellybean to buy an entire outfit (yup, including this skirt) for our graduation photo shoot. Freaking love all of their clothes! It's all so dainty, chic and very wearable anywhere! Plus, the prices of their clothes are very student friendly :) The shoes I wore to the fourth day of fashion week is also very memorable since I wore them to my graduation months ago ☺ Ahh, the memories.
Taylor Swift's new album Red inspired me to wear red on the second day of fashion week. If you haven't heard anything from her album yet, go check it out! My personal favorites from the album are: All Too Well, I Almost Do, State of Grace, Red, Everything Has Changed, 22, and Begin Again. Check out Taylor's Begin Again music video below ☺
Spotted: Leighton Meester on the runway for Penshoppe's IMPACT show for the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012 held at the SMX of SM Mall of Asia on Saturday, May 26. Leighton Meester is considered as the muse of Penshoppe All Stars. A group of international celebrities (Ed Westwick, Mario Maurer, Zac Efron and Ian Somerhalder) that are Penshoppe endorsers.
I always look forward to SM Department Store's show during Philippine Fashion Week since SM Department Store is always my go-to store when I need to buy clothes! Very stylish and affordable! I also bought my very first heels from SM Parisian back in 2009. I am in love with SM Parisian! If I could buy every pair, I would! I love the Holiday 2012 collection of both SM Parisian and SM Ladies Wear. I fell in love with the hot pink Mary janes worn by the beautiful Jasmine Maierhofer! It's to die for and also the red finale dress! :) If you want to buy clothes and shoes, be sure to check out SM Department Store before checking out other retail shops! It has everything. They got it all for you! :)
There are only three things why I want to go to Philippine Fashion Week every season. First, to see the beautiful creations of our local designers; Second, to be inspired (fashion shows motivates me more to become a successful fashion designer in the future); and third, to see or even meet the celebrities! :) I always get giddy when I spot celebrities I love in the events I go to. I attended the second day of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012 :) Years ago, I usually shop for clothes just for these kinds of events. But for practicality, I just mixed and matched some of my clothes and just added some accessories! I painted my nails with my sister's Model's Own nail polish in Bubblegum! Such a cute vibrant neon pink color.
