Music is really a huge chunk of my life and saying that 'I can't live without it' is an understatement. When I go to the gym and work out, I need to listen to upbeat or punk rock music. When I'm on my way to work, I need to listen to my current favs (still not sick of The Weeknd's new album) When I create art or a blog entry, I need to listen to chill songs.
And the list goes on and on.
Here's an entire playlist of songs that made survive 2016. Enjoy!
One random afternoon while I was browsing one of my favorite bands' YouTube channel, I came across a video they made while they were on tour. It was a compilation of one second clips from different places filled with different people and different emotions. The video was very one of a kind and while watching the video, never have I imagined that I will be creating one myself.
Days before starting school as a senior college student, I've been having weird dreams. Weird dreams that I can hardly remember the moment I wake up. The morning exactly the day before classes, I woke up and instantly thought about the one second everyday video I mentioned earlier by one of my favorite bands. I have no idea why but it certainly gave me an idea to create the project myself for my senior year of college.
I’ve been a big fan of watching DIY tutorial videos on YouTube and always thought and daydreamed of creating those kinds of videos myself. Weeks ago, I finally had time to film and edit; so, before the year ends I can fulfill one of my goals. This is my first ever DIY tutorial on my YouTube channel and hopefully not the last! I have a notebook filled with future DIY video ideas and I really hope I’ll accomplish them all :)
Recently, our block planned a Christmas costume party and I honestly had no idea what to wear. I really wanted a Scream Queens-inspired costume (I am so obsessed with the show!!!) but I find these faux fur coats from H&M, Zara and the like really expensive. To think that I’ll just wear the faux fur coat during the party, I really don’t want to spend thousands for it.
Flashback to the year 2012, when I was a high school senior browsing college courses online. I came across with the course Advertising Arts. Honestly back then, I have zero knowledge about advertising agencies or advertising in general here in the Philippines. The career opportunities that were listed on the website were really the main reason why I got interested in pursuing advertising. Just imagine my excitement reading these: computer graphic artist (both in print and TV), creative director, art director, videographer/editor (both TV and film), event planner, visual merchandising artist, fashion designer/merchandiser, layout artist/illustrator, creative and copy writer, account manager, marketing assistant, and art educator. That time, I knew that advertising can open many doors to people that are planning to pursue the major once they graduate.
Fast-forward to the year 2015, I am currently a graduating Advertising Arts student. So far, I believe that the course made me become more open-minded about the arts and advertising in general. Also in a way, it made me confident enough to voice out my ideas and opinions. It made me believe that without advertising, the world would become dreary.
I thought it would be interesting interviewing online influencers here in the Philippines and ask them about their insights about advertising.
Another day, another artwork. This is the first fashion illustration that I posted for The Art Diary Series. Honestly, I would always have a hard time with fashion illustration mainly because I still have no idea what my art style is. I don't even have the proper art materials. I just use random sabog brushes that I see here at home. I really hope before the year ends, I'll finally have an aesthetic for all of my artworks. I want to produce artworks wherein people would know that I made them. Hope you enjoy episode 6 xx
